Court rules in favour of lesbian couple in India

Two home nurses in India have been granted permission by a court in Trichur to live together as lovers. Shaiby, of Idukki, and Prema, of Kollengode, Palgha sought the permission of the court to live together as a couple. The couple decided to seek a court ruling fearing that their families would force them to separate. Shaiby’s 3 months "disappearance" indeed prompted her brother to mount a search with the help of the Trichur police. When the police traced the two women in the agency in Poovathur, their relationship was revealed. Fearing that their families would force them apart, the women tried to secure the court’s approval, stating their firm resolution to share their lives together as partners, and they got it !
